An evocative work from observations of the shore and cliffs, worked in mixed media on canvas with stitched elements applied to the foreground. A calm sea view with atmoshere and presence of place.

Looking up close and in detail at the shoreline revealled fossils within the rock, this combines with a view of the cliffs in which layers of fossils are buried, yet to be revealled.

A piece inspired by looking up close in detail at the sea as waves wash ashore in an ever moving swell. Worked in layers on a muslin background with paper, fibres and threads. Stitch with free machine embroidery, a layer of stitch is worked on aqua bond and then applied with stitch to the surface of the canvas with hand stitch.

A response to a series of drawings of winter trees, observations of the effects of light on the subject. The piece is worked as a painting built in layers with the layer of stitch worked on dissolvable fabric, then applied to the canvas with hand stitch. Further painting with colour and mediums is worked to integrate the stitch with the painting.

A work inspired by a walk on a 'blue sky' day, with a gentle breeze blowing and moving the golden blond summer grasses. A low eye level view is taken, down among the grasses.

A landscape piece worked on fabric and paper, fragmented and joined with vanishing fabric.

Worked on calico, using textured papers and threads, acrylic paint with fabric medium. Stitching is worked using free machine embroidery and hand stitch.

A layer of stitch is worked on dissolvable fabric and applied to the surface with hand stitch. Further paint is applied to integrate the stitch into the suface.
